Worksheets of the Juneteenth for PreK-8th grade level - (Freedom Celebration)

Juneteenth, per New York Times also called  the “Freedom Day” or even called “Emancipation Day,”  which is a holiday to which we do celebrate the termination of slavery in the U. S. ever since 2021, it always been recognized as a public federal holiday. The day aims on remembrance of the 19th of June, 1865, when, 2 years after Pres. Abraham Lincoln did give the Emancipation Proclamation, Texas residents finally learned which aimed on abolishment of slavery and the president’s proclamation was enforced all over the state.

We have put together a list of materials to assist students in learning about the background of Juneteenth and considering its significance in honor of the event and its legacy.

1. We commemorate Juneteenth (new!).

This informative reading worksheet was released right in time for Juneteenth! The third, fourth, and fifth grade worksheet asks students to research how Juneteenth came to be celebrated as a holiday and how it is currently honored.
